Celebration Zone - City of South Perth



Presented by the City of South Perth and supported by Lotterywest and Healthway, everybody is invited to enjoy a great Australia Day experience on the South Perth foreshore in the wonderful surrounds of Sir James Mitchell Park in the new Celebration Zone.

Come and enjoy the alcohol and smoke free zone with more than 70 free activities for all ages, workshops, music, dance and a special performance by the Yabu Band from 6.30 - 8pm.

WHAT TIME? 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
LOCATION: Sir James Mitchell Park, South Perth

Celebrations kick off after the Citizenship Ceremony from 11am in the Healthway Big Top, with a free movie screening of Australian musical, Bran Nue Dae. From 1pm the Celebration Zone gets the party started with a continuous program of entertainment that will run into the night until 8pm.

Come and have a go on the Eski Racers, Wrecking Ball, Zorb Balls, Belly Bumpers, Crazy Bikes and much, much more! Paint your own parasol (3-12 years), get grooving on the Silent Disco Dance Floor (13-18 years), enjoy the multicultural stage program in the Big Top and watch the spectacular City of Perth Skywoks from the comfort of this secure area. Picinickers are encouraged to enjoy more than 4000m2 of shaded picnic areas, free drinking water and sunscreen.

Food vendors will be selling delicious healthy food options. With a special free transport shuttle service running every 15 minutes from the George Burnett Leisure Centre - Karrawarra (GBLC) until 7pm, there is no excuse not to be there!
