Plenty of Pavlova and barbequed sausages will be on the menu in and around Brisbane this Australia Day in celebration of the city's spirit and resilience in the aftermath of the Queensland floods.
Brisbane's tourism industry is getting back to business with many tourism operators staging Australia Day events to show their thanks for the support of the community.
From Brisbane's iconic pubs, to family fun events, live music events, cruises and community barbeques there is an Australia Day celebration to suit all tastes.
"It's incredible how quickly Brisbane is getting back to business," Brisbane Marketing CEO John Aitken said.
"It's great to see the vast majority of local tourism operators, accommodation providers and key attractions throughout the Greater Brisbane region rolling out their welcome mats to visitors.
"There is an enormous desire in Brisbane to prosper against the odds.
"Everyone is extremely positive and upbeat and we're celebrating things as they open," he said.

Flag Raising Ceremony- Kangaroo Point

The flag raising ceremony will be held at Kangaroo Point Park, River Terrace at Kangaroo Point. The ceremony will see the official raising of the Australian, Queensland, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, as well as a rendition of the Australian National Anthem by local young Australian, Lauren Porter.
A thunderous 21 gun salute will also take place at the Roma Street Parklands at the traditional time of 12 noon.
